Our Heritage

We are a 65 year-old family company and have proudly
served Beaufort County since Ray Moore, Sr. founded the
company in 1943. Ray Moore, Jr. followed in his father’s
footsteps and has led as President since 1977. He
expanded F. Ray Moore Oil to include a propane division
and line of Liberty Convenience stores. He and his
family live in Washington, NC.

Our custom programs and superior service has earned us
the privilege of being named Preferred Supplier for
Cypress Landing (a Weyerhaeuser community), River Birch
(a Shore Line Builders development) and Somerset (a
Furlough Construction community).

Community Supporter 
We actively support local schools, churches and civic
organizations in our community. We are blessed to be a
part of the Susiegrey Moore McConnell Sports Complex and
the Hildred Moore Aquatics Center, named after the
daughter and wife of our founder. F. Ray Moore Oil &
Propane has funded 12 grants for the Beaufort County
Educational Foundation. Our team serves locally by
coaching soccer and little league, numerous volunteer
positions and local relief efforts. Ray Moore, Jr.
serves on the United Way Board of Directors and is
President of SmartStart, a child development
organization. Internationally, people have served on 15
medical and construction mission trips to Latin America.
