on your new home! We, the team at F. Ray Moore Propane would greatly

We think you
may be considering propane as well as electric appliances. If so, we want you
to know how much more economical propane is over electricity in the
applications of heating water, drying clothes, cooking, and space heating.
The electric company will not disagree that you will save a substantial
amount of money on heating water, drying clothes, and cooking. Therefore, it
is important to consider gas appliances over electric. Nor will they contest
that propane furnaces are 37% warmer than heat pumps. The cooling part of
this equation is the same. However, they confuse the public in the area of
space heating. The utility company, the City of Washington, incorrectly
state:
- the
efficiency level of propane heat which is 87%
- the cost
per gallon of propane and;
- the cost
of operating a heat pump when the heat strips come on which is any time
the temperature goes below 36 degrees
When the
correct values are used you will see, for a family of four, an annual
savings of over $800 to $1000 per year or $8000 to $10,000 over 10 years. To

Are you
aware you can save about $350 or 46% per year on hot water alone? And
because the recovery time is twice as fast as heating water with
electricity, you will always have hot showers.
Be sure
to ask about our
Price Insurance (PIP) Program where you are given the
opportunity to buy your propane at a "not to exceed price". What a
great thought - even in the coldest of winters, your propane bill will
be less than it would have been with electricity, and even if our cost
drops, yours does too. We were one of the first propane companies to
provide this service in our area!!!

Another thought for you, our area is prone to extended power outages
due to summer hurricanes and winter ice storms. Thus, you may want to
consider an auxiliary propane generator that is much cheaper if your
house is total propane. Then if someone asks you, "How did you weather
the power outage? You can say, What power outage?"
